About This Project

For this project, the client has asked ONE.GO to consider the positioning of the proposal during the tender phase.

Horizons marks the beginning of a new generation of buildings. It breathes, thinks, and feels—just like the lungs, brain, and heart in the human body. These elegant and refined systems have evolved in nature, and state-of-the-art technology has translated them into the built environment. Horizons sets its sights beyond the horizon, proving that humans and nature can exist in perfect harmony. It stands as a sustainable icon for the city of Amsterdam, for the Netherlands, and for the world.

With Horizons, a building comes to life that generates a fivefold positive impact on the city:

  • Energy Positive – The building produces more energy than it consumes.
  • CO2 Negative – Instead of emitting CO2, it actively captures and stores it.
  • Closed-Loop Materials – Waste is repurposed as a resource, ensuring no materials are discarded.
  • Nature-Enhancing – Biodiversity is not only preserved but restored.
  • For Everyone – The building fosters social connection, combating loneliness and strengthening community ties.

The development includes 215 homes, including mid-priced rentals and purchases, free sector, business, and a mobility hub.
