About This Project

The Municipality of Amsterdam has selected Ballast Nedam Development’s proposal for the redevelopment of Amstelstation-Amsteloever plots 3 and 4.

This highly sustainable high-rise project is set to enhance the Amstelstation-Amsteloever neighbourhood. The design takes inspiration from the iconic architecture of the Amsterdam School and Amstelstation, ensuring a seamless connection with the area’s existing high-rises and architectural heritage. The development will replace part of the current residential buildings, which are scheduled for demolition. The new complex will feature at least 335 units, comprising a mix of mid-range rental apartments and private-sector owner-occupied homes. The complex is part of the broader redevelopment of the Van der Kunbuurt. Next to this project, housing corporation Stadgenoot will construct 400 social rental units in the area.

The communal areas will connect to a semi-public rooftop garden located on top of the parking garage. This green space will feature edible herbs, plants, shrubs, and natural play areas. Designed to be fully accessible for seniors and individuals with disabilities, the garden will have multiple entry points. In addition, residents will have access to a private rooftop garden atop the tower’s base structure. Curved private terraces will create an inviting transition between the two gardens.

ONE.GO advised the team during the tender on concept development, strategic design, positioning, and design management.
